Our meditation practice, called Zazen, helps us live a more centred, connected and aware life. The Group practises in the Soto Zen tradition, with links to Throssel Hole Buddhist Abbey and is affiliated to the Order of Buddhist Contemplatives (OBC). Meditation instruction is available for newcomers.

You are warmly invited to come along – the first time there is introductory meditation instruction most Mondays and after this, you’re welcome to any of our group meetings. To arrange this please email  taypacc@gmail.com.

The group meets weekly on Mondays, 7.30pm – 9.30pm – most meetings are in-person with some online. Our in person meetings are at the Friends Meeting House in Lancaster, next door to the railway station.

For more info, please ring our contacts, Kate Shirra-Gibb 01524 39918, or Paul Taylor 07963 369 076.

Serene reflection (silent illumination) is a Western translation for the Zen tradition’s main meditation practice, also known as Zazen or ‘just sitting’. The Group has been meeting regularly in Lancaster since 1980.
