3 My first visit

Introductory meditation instruction for newcomers is available most Mondays and takes about 45 minutes. It is given by experienced practitioners. In the spirit of Buddhism this is free of charge. Then you are welcome to come to our following group meetings.

To arrange this please email taypacc@gmail.com or ring Paul Taylor on 07963 369 076

Our main Group meetings are on Mondays from 7.30pm – 9.30pm. Most are in person at the Friends Meeting House in Lancaster, next door to the railway station, and some online.

Can anybody sit in the meditation positions you use?

There is a range of postures to suit people of all ages and backgrounds. Most people use a meditation bench or a chair; others use a meditation cushion. What is important is that your body is well-balanced and stable so that you can sit in an comfortable, alert and relaxed way. For comfort we recommend loose-fitting clothing.

I just want to meditate. Do only Buddhists come to the group ?

You do not need to be a Buddhist to come to the group. Many people come simply wishing to learn to meditate. It is common for people from other religious backgrounds or with no commitment to any faith to attend a group like ours. As long as you feel comfortable at our  meetings you are very welcome to come.
